What makes credit unions different?
Credit unions are cooperatives. They operate under a different set of rules than big banks and support democracy, equality, ownership, and mutual self-help. The credit union philosophy is what sets credit unions apart. Here are the guiding principles credit unions follow.

Just like the employees who started us, we want to give our members – you, your coworkers, your family, your friends – a better banking option for your financial service needs. As a credit union, we are owned by our members, so we exist to help and benefit you, not stockholders or a board of directors. In fact, all of our Board and Committee members, who primarily are VF employees or retirees, are unpaid volunteers from our membership who care about making sure the credit union is serving its members and operating safely and soundly. We aren’t here for profit or charity; we’re here for service. And we usually have better rates too. We offer all the same products and services as any other financial institution, but our focus is you.

Membership at Acclaim Federal Credit Union is open to individuals residing, working, worshiping, and attending school in the vibrant North Carolina counties of Rockingham, Guilford, and Randolph.
How to Join
Joining is easy!
To become an Acclaim member, you will need to:
- Complete a membership application
- Provide us with identification documents required by federal law, and
- Open at least a savings account with a $5.00 par share minimum deposit and a one time membership fee of $5.00.
The savings account and par share deposit are what make you a member-owner of the Credit Union. Of course, you can also apply for our other products and services too!
