Our Story.
Established in 1972 by dedicated Blue Bell employees (formerly VF Corporation, now Kontoor), Acclaim FCU was born out of a collective vision for an elevated banking experience that transcended individual needs to encompass the well-being of their families. Fueled by a shared commitment to secure investments, savings, and low-fee borrowing at competitive rates, they collaboratively laid the foundation for a financial institution that prioritized these essential principles.
Since its inception, Acclaim has operated under a multiple common bond charter, limiting membership to Select Employee Groups (SEGs). However, in 2024, we proudly embraced a transformative shift to a community charter, extending our reach to include individuals residing, working, worshiping, and attending school in the vibrant North Carolina counties of Rockingham, Guilford, and Randolph.
The fact that Kontoor is headquartered in Guilford County brings us immense joy. Acclaim has the privilege of preserving our connection with our roots while extending our services to new communities. This unique blend of heritage preservation and the embrace of new horizons truly adds an exceptional touch to our ongoing journey.
This strategic expansion is a testament to our unwavering dedication to inclusivity, recognizing the diverse stories and needs interwoven into the fabric of our community. Our mission remains steadfast — to provide comprehensive financial solutions for everyone. We extend an invitation to you to embark on this exciting new chapter with us, where community lies at the heart of every financial endeavor.
